Harkness Electrical is a leading electrical company in Hawkes Bay, based in Hastings. Our work ranges from residential to light industrial projects, including maintenance and new installations. We are known for our excellent customer service and ability to solve problems other companies can't or won't. As our business grows, we need the best help. Are you good enough? 

We are recruiting for a full-time Office Manager (40 hours per week) to assist the Director in ensuring all office activities are completed promptly, accurately, and professionally. You might currently be working for another electrician or related trade business and looking for a new challenge. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Schedule jobs for the Director and other tradesmen. 

  • Enter and generate invoices. 

  • Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients. 

  • Communicate effectively with the Operations Manager regarding ordering and job progress. 

  • Use job management software (e.g., Fergus or similar programs). 

  • Assist with marketing activities (e.g., mailing letters, managing the customer database, social media, etc.). 

  • Strive to produce high-quality work within appropriate time frames. 

  • Enjoy your work and be proud of your achievements. 

  • Motivate your team to meet timelines and uphold the Harkness Electrical professional image. 

Requirements: 

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years experience in office administration (experience in an electrical or related trade business is an advantage). 

  • Experience using XERO (or another accounting package such as MYOB).
